5 screen-free things to do with under-5s in West Ealing this Bank Holiday & Half Term

Bank Holidays with small children have a very particular energy. The shops are busy, nap schedules go rogue, and somehow two days off feel longer than a whole week. The good news: West Ealing has more to offer than you might think. Here’s our round-up of genuinely good screen-free options for under-5s — no car required.

1. Come and play (yes, of course you should visit us!)

We’re open 10am-5pm over Bank Holiday weekend, including Monday, as well as ALL WEEK for Half Term! We recommend booking ahead for Saturday & Sunday - spots do fill up - but walk in for weekdays. Multi-level soft play, role-play pods, new friends and barista coffee for the grown-ups.

2. Lammas Park

A short walk from Broadway, Lammas Park has a decent playground and open green space for burning off energy. Free, reliable, and it genuinely tires them out.

3. Ealing Central Library

The children’s section at Ealing Central Library is lovely for under-5s. Check their website for any Bank Holiday storytelling sessions or activities.

4. Explore Broadway Market

West Ealing’s independent shops are worth a browse with curious small people. Let them choose a pastry from the bakery and call it a cultural outing.

5. Bake something fun together

Hear us out: messy kitchen baking with a toddler hits a surprising number of developmental targets - fine motor skills, sensory exploration, following instructions, early maths. And you get cake... hopefully. Win!

The honest bit

Screen time happens. We’re not here to make anyone feel guilty. But if you need something that gets them moving, engaged, and ready for bed at a reasonable hour — any of the above will do the job.
