Nursery Manager

Part Time Job Share x 2

£38,000 pro rata

We're looking for two passionate, qualified early years professionals to help us launch something brand new: a nursery at Finnegan's World.

 

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a nursery from the very beginning — shaping its culture, its curriculum, and its community from the ground up. Alongside the owner, you'll play a central role in our Ofsted registration process, help us build a team and a waiting list, and make sure our nursery opens with everything in place to be outstanding.

What you'll be doing

  • Alongside the owner, leading the setup, registration, and launch of the Finnegan's World nursery

  • Managing the Ofsted registration process (EYO/EY2 application and registration visit)

  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and EYFS documentation

  • Creating a safe, stimulating, nurturing environment for children aged 2/3–5

  • Building a team and a waiting list ahead of opening

  • Engaging with families and embedding Finnegan's World's warm, community-first ethos into everything you do

 

What we're looking for

  • Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent (Level 5 preferred)

  • Level 2 maths qualification, or commitment to achieve within two years (EYFS statutory requirement)

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in early years, including supervising staff and managing a small nursery

  • Valid Paediatric First Aid certificate

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding legislation

 

The details

  • Part time job share — two people covering 100% of hours Monday to Friday, days and hours to be agreed

  • £38,000 pro rata

  • Based at Finnegan's World, 41 Broadway, West Ealing W13 9DD

Party & Soft Play Assistant — Weekends

Finnegan's World is looking for an energetic, reliable, and customer-focused Party & Soft Play Assistant to join our weekend team. This is a full-day role across both Saturday and Sunday — right in the heart of the action, making sure every family and every party guest has the most magical time possible.

This role is perfect for someone who takes real pride in their work, loves being around children and families, and doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up when there's a party to turn around. ✨

 

What you'll be doing

 

Party & events:

  • Setting up party rooms and play areas before guests arrive — decorations, food stations, table layouts

  • Welcoming party guests and helping the day run smoothly from start to finish

  • Supporting the party host and assisting with games, activities, and guest experience

  • Clearing and resetting the space quickly and efficiently between parties

  • Ensuring all areas are clean, tidy, and ready to go for the next booking

 

Soft play & customer experience:

  • Welcoming families to the venue with warmth and enthusiasm

  • Keeping the soft play area safe, clean, and well-presented throughout the day

  • Supporting parents and carers with a friendly, knowledgeable presence

  • Handling card payments accurately and responsibly

  • Helping with food service and café support during busy periods

  • Replenishing stock and flagging low levels to the manager

 

What we're looking for

  • A warm, friendly manner with children, parents, and colleagues

  • Bags of energy — weekends at Finnegan's World are busy and brilliant

  • Reliable, punctual, and happy to get stuck in wherever needed

  • Comfortable working at pace and pivoting quickly between tasks

  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, childcare, or customer service is a bonus — but enthusiasm and the right attitude matter most

 

The details

  • Saturdays and Sundays, full days

  • Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm (to allow for setup and close-down)

  • Pay: National Minimum Wage

Weekend Work Experience – Parties & Café

Looking for hands-on work experience in a fun, fast-paced environment?

 

Finnegan’s World is offering a weekend work experience placement for someone enthusiastic, reliable and keen to learn about children’s events, hospitality and café life.

This is a learning-focused placement, ideal for someone interested in working with children, hospitality, events or customer service.

 

What you’ll be learning & experiencing

You’ll be supported by our team and gain real insight into running a busy weekend soft play café and party space, including:

  • Supporting the setup and flow of children’s parties

  •  Helping with games, play and guest experience

  •  Shadowing and assisting in the café

  •  Helping with food service, clearing and customer support

  •  Learning how to interact confidently with children, families and customers

All activities are supervised and designed as part of a learning experience.

 

Training & qualifications included

As part of the placement, we provide paid-for professional training, including:

  •  Barista training with Curious Roo

    • Coffee shots

    • Milk texturing & latte art

  •  Fire safety training

  •  Food Hygiene Level 2

  •  Food allergies & allergen awareness

  •  Customer service training

  • Certificates are provided where applicable.

This training is offered as part of the learning experience and does not create an employment relationship.
